Fyah Friday- Fashion and ish

Effortless and amazing

I really enjoy fashion. I am not particularly into brands but I have learned that you get what you pay for most of the time. Also, I am a few years past the  Forever 21 throwaway-outfits  age range so it’s important that I buy clothes that fit well and will last.    Here are some of the fashion bloggers that I follow .

Folake Huntoon at Style Pantry

I really like Folake’s effortless and classic style. Always sexy but modest at the same time. She has a look of the day everyday and always lets us know how to get versions of the clothes and shoes she features.  Men’s wear, fitness gadgets too! #getit!

Patrice Yursik at Afrobella

Patrice is one of the pioneer black fashion bloggers and as testament to her hard word she even has her own MAC lipgloss. That’s a big deal! I been following her for years and has seen her grow into a major player in the beauty blogging scene. She has lot’s of info  on health and products and fashion events to keep you entertained. Definitely one to check out.

Beena at Beena’s Little works of Art.

This youtube channel is all about natural (without acrylic tips) nail art. I sometimes think that I have a lot of makeup but I actually have a tons of nail polish. It’s pretty cheap and it’s easy for me to pick up a few bottles in beautiful colours that I want try on my nails. When I get adventurous I see what Beena has been up to and usually try some of her designs myself. I usually can only get a passing grade on my left hand so the design hardly sees outside of my house. I still really enjoy trying and one day, I shall overcome my shaky left hand application.

Addendum 🙂

One of my sheroes, Joan Morgan, has branched out from writing books that changed my life to her own line of body butters. Check out her project at ByEmilyJayne.com and read about her hand made products inspired by the Caribbean. Her signature body butter is titled Wench, gotta love it!

Fyah Links Friday

If  I was a rich girl (shout out to Louchie Lou) I would buy lots of art. I have a few pieces up on my walls currently but I would love to support Caribbean, African, Indigenous photographers,  painters and sculptors and craft persons and fill my space with colour and light and creativity and all that good stuff.

Until then, I stalk it online 🙂

I wanna share some stuff that I have found, hope you enjoy it as well.

1.) This little girl and her afro makes me smile 🙂
